As children of Africa, modern humans migrated out of Africa ~ 80000 years ago, and now spread all the continents of this planet. During this process, ourselves changed genetically and culturally over time, shaped by the new environments we arrived at. Meanwhile we also changed our new dwelling environments forever. The basic instinct of exploring unknowns, a defining characteristic of early modern humans, probably propelled the great human immigration, and remains to drive bigger endeavors that we engage today.
I came across this incredible BBC series - "
The Incredible Human Journey", narrated by Alice Roberts, which vividly covered a history of us migrating out of Africa and reaching the remotest points of the globe.
